Réunion des Musées Nationaux (RMN) is made up of more than thirty national and regional museums throughout France, including major Paris institutions such as the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the Château de Versailles, and the Georges Pompidou Center. This non-profit organization, which is under the supervision of the French government, was founded in 1895 to raise and administer the funds required for the acquisition of works of art by national collections. RMN also handles promotion of the collections and the organization of temporary exhibitions.
