The medium format marketplace is now settling down after some serious bloodletting amidst different names, plus a quickening switch from film to digital.
As the quality demands laid on professionals become ever more extreme, the one way to screw the utmost quality from the camera bodies, lenses and digital backs, is to integrate them ever more closely. So this movement to tailor camera models, proprietary software and specific digital backs to work together- is here to stay.
Although Jenoptic is a European Electronics giant, it is both laudable and brave to fund a new camera platform. Choosing Franke & Heidecke as a partner was a very smart move.
